Terms of Use

Last updated August 9, 2026

Agreement

These terms cover the SdCam iOS app and the website at sdcam.app. By downloading or using SdCam, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The app

SdCam lets you capture photo and video and write them to an SD card attached to your iPhone or iPad. You need compatible hardware (a Lightning or USB-C reader and a card). Direct-to-SD recording is iOS-only.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use SdCam on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store terms.

Your responsibilities

  • Use the app only for lawful purposes.
  • You are responsible for people you record and for complying with privacy and consent laws.
  • You are responsible for your hardware, cards, and backups. Cards fail. Keep copies of anything that matters.
  • Do not reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the app except where the law does not allow us to restrict that.

Media and permissions

Camera and microphone are used to capture media. Files are stored on the card or folder you select. See our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer

SdCam is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted recording. We do not warrant that the app will capture every frame, that a card will not fail, or that a given device, reader, or card will support every resolution or frame rate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost footage, corrupted cards, device damage, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of SdCam. Some places do not allow these limits; in those places, our liability is limited to what the law requires.

App Store

If you downloaded SdCam from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. The date at the top of this page is the latest version.
